Q. I'm interested to apply for the AS to BSDH Completion program, where should I start?
Its highly recommended that you speak with a 17勛圖 counselor for questions about class equivalencies and course requirements.
Before scheduling an appointment, youll need to apply for admission through the 17勛圖 Online Application.
After you receive your student ID via email (usually within 12 days), you can make an appointment with an academic counselor. Any counselor can assist with your program; however, the following counselors work closely with the Dental Hygiene Program (both the Entry-Level Track and the AS to BS-DH Track):

If they are unavailable, you may meet with any counselor and ask about the Bachelor of Science General Education Requirements for the AS to BS Dental Hygiene Completion Program at 17勛圖.
You may choose either a 1-year or 2-year educational planlearn more about these options at Program Educational Plan Options.
Once youve selected your preferred plan, you can submit your application to the AS to BSDH Program through Apply for the Program.

Q.Will I need to be on campus?
All courses in the program are offered fully online, and there is no on-campus attendance requirement. However, students are welcome to participate in the on-campus commencement ceremony held each June.
Note: Due to state authorization restrictions, residents of certain states are not eligible to enroll in 17勛圖s online courses. These states include Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, and
                              Washington, D.C.

Q. What are the admission requirements, and how soon can I be admitted into the program?
Admission Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Minimum cumulative college GPA 2.75.
- Licensed in good standing as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Applicants are admitted to the program on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that a waiting period may occur before the next admission cycle. It is recommended to check the website regularly for the most up-to-date information.
The program admits students twice a year, during the Spring and Fall quarters. For specific application dates, please refer to the "Apply for the Program" tab.
Q. Should I make an appointment with a school counselor before applying for the program?
Yes, we highly recommend to make an appointment to speak to a 17勛圖 counselor before applying to the program.
They can analyze your transcripts to determine which GE courses you need to complete. They can check for course equivalency and give you insight about the Bachelor Science General Education Requirements for the Dental Hygiene.
Before making an appointment with a counselor, you will need to apply for admissions at 17勛圖 Admission to obtain your CWID (School ID) - 17勛圖 Online Application
Once you receive your CWID (School ID) via email, which may take 1-2 days, you can make an appointment with an academic counselor. Any counselor may assist you with our program. Q. What is the Bachelor Science General Education Requirements for the Dental Hygiene Program at 17勛圖?
Beginning Summer 2025, students can fulfill or waive their BS general education requirements using ONE of the following options by:
- Completing our local 17勛圖 GE pattern
- Fully completing one of these transfer GE patterns at 17勛圖:
- CSU GE-Breadth
- IGETC
- Cal-GETC
- Having earned an Associate Degree or Associate Degree for Transfer from a California
                              Community College (CCC).
- Holding a previously awarded Bachelor's degree from an 
- Obtaining GE reciprocity from one of the 9 participating CCCs in the Region 4 GE
                              Reciprocity Program Certification.
- Obtaining GE reciprocity from ANY CCC. 
- Obtaining a full GE certification from another CCC, verifying completion of a transfer GE pattern.
Please schedule an appointment to see a 17勛圖 counselor through our Counseling Department to help determine how your transfer credits apply to your degree plan.
Q. Who can help me with class equivalency?
General education may be transferred from accredited colleges, but must be equivalent to 17勛圖 courses.
You can speak to a counselor at 17勛圖 to determine class equivalencies and the Bachelor of Science General Education Requirements for the AS to BS Dental Hygiene Completion Program at 17勛圖.
You may apply to 17勛圖 for admission, and once you receive your student ID in 1-2 days, you can make an appointment with an academic counselor. Any counselor may assist you with our program. Q. How do I send my transcripts to 17勛圖?
You can obtain your official College Transcripts by requesting a copy from all the
                              colleges you've attended. Typically, registrar offices or registration departments
                              at the corresponding college will assist you with this. 
- Please note that unofficial copies will not be accepted and may automatically disqualify you. 
- You can request electronic transcripts or e-transcripts from your previous school(s) directly to 17勛圖. If they need an email address,
                                 the official transcripts can be sent to . 
- If the school doesn't offer e-transcripts, you can have the official transcripts mailed to:

- Official 17勛圖 and/or De Anza College transcripts are not required. If you took courses at 17勛圖 or De Anza College previously, you do not
                                 need to request your transcripts.
- If you cannot obtain any of the required documents, please be prepared to provide a letter of explanation, which will be attached to your application.
Q. How much does the program cost?
The course fees are $87 per unit, so the program will cost approximately $4,000 ($9700
                           for out-of-state students), not including additional costs for textbooks or any other
                           course materials.
Estimated cost for books is $200-$350.
Q. How is the tuition paid?
Tuition is paid as you register for your courses every quarter.
You can also apply for an Installment Plan.

Q. Is Statistics a required course?
If a student has not taken a transferable level math course to fulfill the IGETC or CSU GE Pattern, it is highly recommended they take Statistics.
It is highly recommended, but not required, to take Statistics before registering for IDS300.
Q. What is the course format?
The AS to BSDH courses are desinged for working dental hygienists, they are 100% online and the course format is asynchronous. If you have further questions, you may send your inquiries to [email protected].
Q. What is a capstone project?
The capstone project is a three-quarter process in which students pursue independent research on a question or problem of their choice with the guidance of a faculty mentor and culminating in the production of a substantial paper that reflects a deep understanding of the chosen topic.
The topic for the capstone project should be related to the field in which the student
                           is interested in pursuing a career after earning the degree and may involve one of
                           the following areas but not limited to:
- Dental Hygiene Education
- Dental Public Health
- Corporate Educators/Administrators
- Policy-making
- Clinical Dental Hygiene/ Basic Science
